Design a 2‑to‑3‑minute cinematic brand video featuring 3D motion graphics and live‑action integration for Motoniq.
The video adopts a dark, technical, expansive aesthetic that conveys frontier technology and scientific precision. It follows five distinct visual and narrative arcs—problem definition, technical stack, platform vision, and data flywheel—each rendered with hard‑surface 3D product transitions, large‑scale particle systems, physics‑based simulations, procedural node graphs, and layered stack diagrams. Vector field overlays, waveform visualisations, and global network animations are composited directly onto live footage, while minimal UI and typography animations punctuate key moments. Heavy compositing, hard‑cut editing, precise rhythm, music synchronisation, and integrated sound design create a cohesive, high‑energy statement of category leadership. The deliverable demands expertise in Cinema 4D or Blender, After Effects, and advanced compositing tools such as Nuke or DaVinci Fusion, alongside a proven portfolio of complex motion graphics and scientific visual language.
In need of an experienced Rive animator with vector illustration skills to convert three existing raster character designs into a scalable, extensible Rive system. The emphasis is on extensibility: this system must support future skins, accessories, and animations without re-rigging. The character will be used in a Flutter mobile app.
---
**Scope of Work**
**1. Illustration:** Convert three provided raster character designs into clean vector artwork. The characters share the same base anatomy but have slightly different proportions, skin tones, and outfits. You are welcome to take some creative leeway to slightly tweak the characters so they do not need major customizations in rive. They should, however, not deviate too far from the inspiration images.
**2. Base Component & Rig:** Build a single reusable base Rive component with a professional bone hierarchy (Head, Torso, Arms, Legs, etc.) and IK where appropriate for natural limb movement. The rig should make future animation straightforward.
**3. Character Variants:** Create three variants as instances of the base component:
* **Bloom** — pink skin tone, skirt (color-configurable)
* **Guardian** — green skin tone, cape (color-configurable)
* **Thorn** — gray skin tone, cape (color-configurable)
**4. Animation Controls:** Set up controls (joysticks preferred, but open to alternatives) that make future animation work ergonomic and intuitive.
**5. Animations (3 total):**
* **Idle:** organic breathing, subtle head sway, and randomized eye blinking (every 2–10 seconds, procedural feel)
* **Happy Jump:**character jumps repeatedly with arms/fists pumping; expressive and joyful. Open to feedback, whatever feels natural
* **Wave:** character raises their left hand and performs a natural-looking wave (~0.5–1 second), with appropriate secondary body movement (e.g. torso might move a bit or arms)
**6. State Machine:** Implement a robust Rive State Machine with clearly named inputs for:
* Switching between animations
* Toggling accessory slots on/off
Organize into folders where it makes sense.
**7. Accessory & Cosmetics:** The character needs accessory slots (e.g. hats, shoes, pants) that are driven by external image assets at runtime. Accessories should be bindable so the app can swap them programmatically via Rive's data binding. Please confirm your familiarity with this approach in your proposal. I plan to have the following slots:
- headwear (hat, crown, ...)
- eyewear (glasses)
- top (t-shirt, jacket, etc)
- legwear (pants, shorts, ...)
- footwear (shoes, socks, ...)
- gloves
- neckwear (scarf, necklace, etc)
- handheld items (wands, pencil, book, flowers, etc)
**8. Demo Accessory:** Create two simple accessory items to use for each slot and create the ability to swap between them. This should serve as the way to demo the ability to swap out items for each slot.
e.g.
for eyewear, it can be two different types of glasses (sunglasses vs goggles)
for legwear, it can be pants vs shorts,
etc..
---
**Deliverables**
* Source vector files (e.g. SVG or Figma/Illustrator source)
* The source Rive file with base component, three variant instances, full rig, all animations, and State Machine
* Clean, logical naming conventions for all layers, bones, and state machine inputs
---
**What I'm Looking For**
* Demonstrated Rive experience, ideally with character rigs and State Machines (please share portfolio examples!)
* Strong vector illustration skills, I would like to stay true to the inspiration images
* Clear communication and ability to flag technical tradeoffs early
